Position Description:

Reports to the Project Engineer.  Obtain, evaluate, coordinate and distribute the information and authorizations needed to construct all mechanical and electrical systems included in the project on time, within budget, and to the quality specified. Protect and promote the interest of Turner in all matters.

 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Review all mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications and ensure they properly relate to the estimate.
- Obtain information and approvals required from the owner, architect, and engineers for the timely processing of shop drawings.
- Prepare contract item list for all components of the mechanical and electrical systems.
- Establish and maintain document control procedures as directed by the Project Engineer.
- Coordinate all mechanical and electrical plant, equipment and piping layouts for all trades on a master coordination set of drawings securing the approval of the architects and engineers.
- Ensure that materials and equipment are released for fabrication in a timely manner so as to conform to the project schedule.
- Manage project closeout, secure all guarantees, warranties required for acceptance and handover of all mechanical and electrical systems.
- Maintain EEO compliances.
- Perform other duties as assigned.


 
Qualifications

Four-year college degree with at least six years of formal engineering or architectural training and at least four years of building construction experience required. Knowledge of estimating, construction costs, scheduling, purchasing, and engineering principals and techniques, of all general contract and subcontract documents, drawings and specifications. A basic understanding of accounting and cost control procedures. Strong computer skills and a familiarity with Microsoft office suite of programs. Knowledge of Prolog Manager and Primavera scheduling desirable.


 
Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
