Position Description:

Junior level position that is primarily responsible for intercompany charges, fixed assets, sales & use tax/property plant and equipment, journal entries, reconciliations, data entries duties related to the maintenance of the General Ledger.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Intercompany charges:

·         Print transaction reports and input into workbook

·         Pull all backup and create PDF files for each unit

·         Send workbook to corporate

·         Forward the backup to specific intercompany contacts


Fixed Assets:

·         Organize fixed asset invoices monthly

·         Prepare fix asset schedule quarterly by BU


Sales & Use tax/Property Plant and Equipment:

·         Print reports received from field staff

·         Create journal entries and coversheets for reporting

·         Send S&U reports to DMA, Inc. and PP&E reports to TCS


Journal Entries:

·         Prepare ARC, Office Depot, and AEC journal entries

·         Submit to Office accountants for review



·         Run monthly reports and prepare reconciliations

·         Prepare any necessary journal entries for open items

·         Submit for approval

·         Scan to the T:drive

·         Forward hard copies to the Reconciliation Senior Office Accountant


Data Entry:

·         Enter journal entries as needed

·         Detail transaction description as specified by BU


BS in Accounting or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite. Understand basic accounting principles i.e. journal entries, general ledger, etc. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, good work ethic and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an open office setting where the employee is seated in a cubical environment. The noise in these work environments is usually low to moderate.
