Intern - Technology Services / IT

Essential Duties and Responsibilities




IT interns will support the IT team in the maintenance of hardware, software and other systems as needed.  They will also perform tasks such as providing operating systems and application software installations as well as upgrades and virus protection.  Interns will assist clients and troubleshoot issues with printers, computers, cell phones and applications. They will also assist in auditing computer systems and operations, managing equipment inventory and processing IT department invoices







Applicants must have knowledge and experience with PC hardware components, including desktop operating system software, application software and engineering applications (i.e. AutoCAD Map, MS Office, MS SharePoint and in house applications).  Knowledge of PC Industry’s current and emerging technology trends and direction, as well as a keen interest in computer-based information systems and technologies a plus. Analytical skills and experience in troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software problems required.  Ability to research and understand technical documentation, and an understanding of how to apply various technical resources on the job also needed. 


Customer service oriented individuals who are motivated self-starters, but who can also be team players in making sure that all upper management direction is adhered to.  Should have strong communication skills, both written and oral, and should have some experience in being able to easily train and assist computer users. 





Must be currently enrolled in a technology based trade school or four-Year University with a focus on technology.  Required to work at least 2 each week for at least 4 to 8 consecutive hours per day.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
