Position Description:

The Marketing Manager is responsible for overall management and organization of the sales proposal process for the Turner Industrial Group (TIG) as well as public relations, market research, graphic demands, photography, and creation and maintenance of all sales materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct, manage and train department staff to develop and administer overall Industrial Group marketing philosophy and plan.

  • Develop and maintain overall department budget, reviews and approves all material invoices.

  • Manage, edit and write proposals; prepare and submit all necessary Industrial qualification requirements.

  • Manage and maintain all Industrial project public relations - ground breaking events, openings, ceremonies, press releases, website, Sharepoint, etc.

  • Network with architects, marketing managers/coordinators in other Turner offices, etc. and develop relationships for shared ideas, projects (photography), etc.  Attend meetings, conferences, and lunches to network with others in the marketing industry.

  • Prepare presentations in collaboration with senior staff members; graphically create slides, boards, charts and various deliverables for presentation materials.

  • Research current trends in marketing technology.  Develop concepts that drive differentiation, design latest techniques for proposal/presentation materials and brochures.

  • Interview and select photographers for project photographs.  Direct photo shoots for all Industrial projects and maintain overall up-to-date photographic library.

  • Compile/prepare special reports for annual marketing forecasts and manage and prepare monthly department sales reports.

  • Organize social events, private parties (Owners/Architects), annual team dinners, holiday events, holiday gifts, holiday cards, etc.

  • Develop market specific marketing plan; including market research, advertising plan, PR, tradeshows, and community involvement.

  • Manage all aspects of internal marketing and communication; including internal website and company meetings.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum 4 year degree in marketing or related filed plus 5+ years of marketing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Ability to successfully supervise multiple staff of different levels; possesses strong specialty skills and knowledge.  Ability to adapt and learn new technical, imaging techniques under constantly changing competitive marketing demands.  Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.  Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization.  Exceptional computer skills (Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and InDesign, desk-top publishing, excel, word, PowerPoint, corel draw, graphic design skills).  Must be organized, flexible, and able to work under pressure - continuously meeting project deadlines across multiple time zones.  Must be a highly motivated, creative individual.  Displays initiative, independent thinking and teamwork.  A decision maker.  Experience in the construction or associated industries and/or understanding of construction a plus.
